EGGLESTON AVENUE STREETSCAPE
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The American Society of Landscape Architects initiated this project as its first national Community Assistance Team (CAT) project.
A concept design for a new boulevard leading to Cincinnati's riverfront gateway was one recommendation which came out of the plan.
Mr. Meisner served as a CAT member and coordinator. He prepared the final design, "Waves of Grass" - a layering of grasses, bulbs and ornamentals. The design featured historical markers to memorialize the avenue's transportation history including the Simon Kenton trace, the canal, the incline, the trolley, the railroad, and the expressway.
