LINDEN GROVE CEMETERY

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

 

A unique master plan for Historic Linden Grove Cemetery located in the heart of Covington, Kentucky has been created to enhance and expand its capacity.

 

This master plan process has involved city, Board + Trustees and neighborhood groups.  Site analysis has incorporated forensic work with side viewing radar assessment of old graves.

 

Key elements of this master plan include a new entry, parking area, memorial tree groves, water feature, garden niche / cremains spaces, a scattering garden and new lawn / monument burial spaces.

 

The master plan includes the enhancement and expansion of the Veterans Memorial area.  This enhancement includes the creation of six long columbarium walls flanking 1000 new lawn markers, ground inurnment spaces set on axis with the existing Veterans podium.  

 

The master plan revives this unique historic site and brings new capacity and placemaking into the community.
