PROJECT DESCRIPTION

 

The Farmstead is strategically located in Batavia, Ohio, perfectly balancing privacy and accessibility.  Situated away from the hustle and bustle of the city, residents will enjoy the peacefulness of a luxury farm suburban setting.

 

The vision is to create a community that celebrates America’s historic agricultural heritage, promotes wellness and hospitality, and offers a variety of residential options, drawing inspiration from the existing working farm and other farm properties like Blake’s Orchards in Michigan and Blackberry Farm, and South Hall in Tennessee.  

 

For the past 42 years, the Klubas have been farming the land to feed their family and provide for others in our community with their weekly presence at the Produce pickup.

 

Honoring this legacy the Farmers will expand the family farm, where agriculture and community seamlessly blend at the heart of “The Farmstead,” will be created as a place of renewability, rest, and family for future generations.

 

The Farmstead will advance and encourage sustainable development principles with contextual site and architecture design. These include:

1. Stormwater  Management elements such as; bioretention areas, bioswale, bioretention ponds and green roofs

2. Sustainable building materials

3. Energy conservation through wind, solar and geothermal

4. Water conservation and recycling

5. Modern Sustainable  agriculture practices.
